Always second best.. But it feels like last compared.
After months of putting off replacing the right-side fan in my MBPro due to it making a heinous amount of noise, I finally ordered one through an old friend from the DVWarehouse days (got hooked up with a homie discount and no taxation).
Swapped it out last night and kept my fingers crossed that this would solve the problem and it finally is as quiet as the day I purchased it. The noise was so bad that I would use it as an alarm in the morning to wake the fuck up and get out of bed.
A funny note during the swapping: I don’t own a Torx screwdriver set, which is required for some of the screws on the MBPro. What I had done in the past was use a tiny flathead screwdriver that would wedge into them and managed to get by. Of course with my luck, I couldn’t find that exact tiny flathead screwdriver which is the only one that worked, so I proceeded to take an old x-acto blade and use my tin snippers to cut the blade down to the right size that would fit into the torx screws. Macguyver shit right there.
